The Art Gallery at the University of Maryland
The Art Gallery at the University of Maryland is a contemporary art gallery on the campus of the University of Maryland, College Park. Founded in 1955, the Gallery was initially housed in the Tawes Building before moving to a newly-constructed exhibition facility in the Arts-Sociology Building in 1976.[1] Over 1,500 prints, drawings, paintings, sculptures, and photographs make up the Gallery's Permanent Collection.[2] Among the prominent artists who have had exhibits showcased at the Gallery are Louis Faurer, Conrad Marca-Relli, and Ian Hornak. The Jean Broc painting The Death of Hyacinthos was featured in an exhibition at the Gallery in 1975.
